한국에서 배출한 세계적 명 연주자들이 대부분 여성 중심이었으나 오주영군은 그 발군의 실력을 이미 어렸을 적에 인정 받은 바 있다.
1996년 14세 때 뉴욕의 국제 콘서트에서 1등상을 수상한 바 있으며 그 후 오군의 연주는 전세계 관중들을 열광시켜 왔다.
2005년 쥴리어드 음대를 졸업과 대학원에서 바이올린의 최고거장이라 칭송되는 도로시 딜레이에게 사사를 받았다. 현재는 독일에서 세계적 교수인 자카르 브론으로부터 사사받고 있다.
 
이번 공연에 피아노 반주를 맡은 '알렉세이 그니리옥' 또한 음악계에서는 명 연주자 반열에 들어설 신예 피아니스트로서 전세계의 주목을 받고 있다.
 
이번 런던 공연에는 런던 뿐 아니라 유럽의 음악관계자들이 관람할 예정이다.
 

joo young oh, violinist

at the age of 14, joo young oh earned his first international recognition as winner of first prize at the 1996 young concert artists international competition in new york. mr. oh started playing the violin when he was five. in1994, he moved to the united states to continue his studies.
by age 11, after having won a concerto competition at the 1992 interlochen arts camp, san jose symphony in california invited oh on two occasions to perform with them.
since then, oh has made numerous solo appearances with various orchestras worldwide, including the los angeles philharmonic, under the direction of maestro esa-pekka salonen. his solo appearances also include colorado symphony orchestra, tacoma symphony orchestra of wa, altoona symphony of pa, hungarian soloist chamber orchestra, ukraine national symphony orchestra, salzburger kammerphilharmonie of austria, podlaska philharmonic, poland, massapequa philharmonic with north shore symphony of ny, aspen music festival orchestra, los angeles theater orchestra, kbs symphony and seoul philharmonic orchestra.

joo young oh has gone on to perform extensively recitals in most of the major cities in the u.s. such as los angeles, chicago, denver, atlanta, washington d.c, san francisco and new york. he also has performed extensively in cities around the world, including berlin, germany, sydney, australia, tokyo and osaka, japan, vienna, austria, lyon, france, and vancouver, canada, lima,peru, beijing,china. in 2003, oh made his new york debut with a recital at carnegie weill hall.

joo young oh’s gaining recognition has prompted his participation in aspen music festival for six years since1997, performing recitals and other concert activities. oh was also invited as special guest soloist at a sumi jo concert tour, playing collaborations with her. he played as a guest soloist with salzburger kammerphilharmonie at hardelot summer music festival in france, 2004. he was also a special guest at the wilshire ebell theater in los angeles for world youth festival, 2004.

he was winner of the 2004 juilliard school violin competition.
in 2005, oh has performed in denver, dallas, chattanooga, annandale, va  and new york, including a performance as a guest soloist with new york symphony orchestra at lincoln center, in new york. national violin festival in lima, peru, also invited oh as a soloist. at the end of 2005, he gave a christmas tour in japan, in cities such as tokyo, osaka, yokohama, chiba, and kobe.
joo young oh performance has earned him various recognitions. maestro zubin mehta once exclaim,”oh has something absolutely special, and his future is truly bright.” he also received a stradivarius violin from samsung cultural foundation of korea several years ago on loan for limited time. he received an outstanding youth award from the minister of culture and federation competition, in korea, before moving to the united states. he recorded the mendelssohn concerto with the slovakia philharmonic in europe. he is engaged to perform as a soloist with czech radio symphony orchestra, july 21,2007, peru national symphony orchsrea october 2007, prague radio symphony and st.petersburg philharmonic orchestra, russia on 2008 and recital at the wigmore hall in london december, 2008.
mr.oh studied violin under the late dorothy delay, hyo kang and stephen clapp at the juilliard school of music in new york. also he is studied with a famous violin professor zakhar bron in germany.

ukrainian pianist alexei grynyuk studied at the kiev conservatoire before winning a scholarship to the royal academy of music where he studied with hamish milne. notable competition successes include first prizes at the dyagilev competition in moscow, the vladimir horowitz competition in kiev and the shanghai piano competition in china.

alexei grynyuk’s increasingly international career has included recital appearances at wigmore hall & south bank centre in london, salle cortot & salle gaveau in paris and the great hall of moscow conservatoire, as well as in japan, south korea and morocco. following the success of his new york début at the metropolitan museum in spring 2005 under the generous patronage of alexis gregory, he was re-invited to their distinguished piano series. his performances have been broadcast on bbc radio 3, hessicher rundfunk frankfurt, kro4 hilversum, ukrainian national radio and chinese, russian & ukranian television.

acclaimed by musical opinion for his “breathtaking technical accomplishment and musicianship of the highest order” alexei grynyuk has been invited to appear in such prestigious festivals as cervantino, mexico; dushniki chopin festival, poland; kremlin music, moscow; musica sacra maastricht; newport music festival, rhode island and mannes college international keyboard festival, new york.
